The Department of Highways of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia is rehabilitating the 9 km long section (Nakerala pass) connecting Tkibuli-Ambrolauri on the national Kutaisi (Mozameta)-Tkibuli-Ambrolauri highway. The works are at the stage of completion.

The mentioned road connects Imereti and Racha. The road passes by several villages, various tourist facilities and churches and monasteries. Thus, the arrangement of the road infrastructure is important for the improvement of the socio-economic situation and the development of tourism.

Within the framework of the project, the road section is being rehabilitated, an asphalt-concrete surface will be laid, artificial structures will be arranged, including new reinforced concrete pipes, gabion walls, reinforced concrete cuvettes and others. It is also planned to arrange connections, entrances to local and residents' yards and road signs. The carriageway of the road is also marked.

The project is financed from the state budget up to 8 million GEL.
