In the ongoing construction process on the Ubisa-Shorapani section of the Rikoti Pass road, which is part of the East-West road, on the landslide slope at the 10th km, the project envisages complex strengthening (anchoring) works on the slope. During the works, Ferdi's so-called Before terracing-reinforcement, the landslide processes activated as a result of the recent abundant rainfall, removed the temporarily paved surface of one area of the slope, which damaged the outer concrete section.

"Construction works are actively underway on the 10th km of Ubisa-Shorapani. We were aware of this landslide area and there is a corresponding design solution. Unfortunately, as a result of heavy rainfall, the slope collapsed, which should be followed by terracing, reinforcing anchoring and strengthening works. The collapse of the embankment damaged the concrete, this concrete will be cleaned, the embankment will be cleaned and the works will continue as usual according to the project, and this will not interfere with the construction process, said Giorgi Tsereteli, the chairman of the Roads Department.

Construction works are actively continuing on the Ubisa-Shorapani section. As for the settlement with the construction company, the payment will be made after the works are fully completed and the work performed by the supervisory company is confirmed and accepted.
