Rehabilitation of 53 km of road in Guria region is underway

The Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia is carrying out road rehabilitation works up to 53 km in the Guria region. From this, the rehabilitation of a section of up to 40 km is planned by the end of the year.

With the financial support of the World Bank, 7 different lots are being rehabilitated. In total, 53 km. The road is being rehabilitated and the total cost of the projects is 50 million GEL.

Within the framework of the mentioned project, the rehabilitation of separate sections of the Sajavakho-Chokhatauri-Ozurgeti-Kobuleti, Chokhatauri-Bakhmaro, Ozurgeti-Natanevi-Ureki and Chokhatauri-Zomleti roads, which includes the Nasakiral pass, is being carried out. The rehabilitation of the Ozurgeti-Natanabi-Ureki road and the Sajavakho-Chokhatauri-Ozurgeti-Kobuleti road, up to 6 km in total, has been completed.

It is worth noting that, in total, asphalt paving has been completed on up to 30 km of the road.

The projects will significantly improve the road infrastructure in the region and the population will be able to use comfortable and safe roads.
