"Despite the challenges and delays, works are actively being carried out on the section of the Grigoleti-Kobuleti main road. It is a very important section, where the progress of works will exceed 70% by the end of the year. Moreover, by the end of the year, we plan to open a 4-lane, 5-km stretch," said the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Irakli Karseladze, after visiting the construction works of the Grigoleti-Kobuleti road section.

The construction works of the 14.4 km section of the Grigoleti-Kobuleti bypass road include the construction of a four-lane asphalt-concrete road, 22 bridge crossings, 4 traffic junctions, water pipes and underground exits.

The Grigoleti-Kobuleti bypass road is a part of the East-West expressway (E60), through this section, the Samtredia-Grigoleti road section will be connected to the Kobuleti bypass road, and the traffic flows from Grigoleti to Kobuleti will move along the road.

The new section, along with comfortable movement, also ensures international road safety standards.

The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Irakli Karseladze, and the State Trustee in the Guria region, Giorgi Urushadze, got acquainted with the ongoing works.

The project is implemented with the support of the European Investment Bank (EIB) and its value is 228 million GEL.
