The Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia is rehabilitating a 10-km section of the internal Batumi (Angisa)-Akhaltsikhe road in Shuakhevi municipality.

The terrain of the rehabilitation road is mountainous and passes through both inhabited and uninhabited territory. The section of the road starts at the 59th kilometer of the Batumi (Angisa) - Akhaltsikhe international road and ends at the 68th kilometer of the same road.

Within the framework of the rehabilitation project, technical parameters of the road will be improved, road surface, 1 bridge will be rehabilitated, culverts and existing artificial structures will be repaired; the carriageway of the road will be widened on separate sections; Connections to local roads, entrances to the yard, bus stops will be reorganized, and waiting areas will be repaired; The roadway will be marked, road signs and fences will be updated, which will ensure safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians.

Batumi (Angisa) - Akhaltsikhe secondary road connects the Autonomous Republic of Adjara with the Samtskhe-Javakheti region, and is also a road connection with the internationally important Senaki-Poti-Sarfi and Khashuri-Akhaltsikhe-Vale roads.

The road rehabilitation project is financed with 11 million GEL from the state budget.
