The Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia continues the construction of the Vaziani access road in the Kakheti region. The project envisages the construction of 3.7 km of road and 6 bridge crossings. At the moment, the arrangement of reinforced concrete pipes, bridge crossings and access roads is underway. The cost of works is 64 mln. GEL.

The construction of the 35-km Tbilisi-Sagarejo road is divided into 3 sections, and a 4-lane cement-concrete high-speed road equipped with an external lighting system will be built. At this stage, construction work is underway on all three lots.

The construction of the 35 km Tbilisi-Sagarejo road is financed from the state budget and its total cost is 527,169,937 GEL. It should be noted that the tender was announced in such a way that Georgian companies could independently participate in the implementation of the project, and the Vaziani bypass is being built by a Georgian company.

The Tbilisi-Sagarejo section is a part of the main road connecting Tbilisi to Kakheti, and also a transit corridor connecting it with the northwestern region of Azerbaijan.

The existing road passes through densely populated villages and towns such as Vaziani, Sartichala, Ninotsminda and Sagarejo. Tbilisi-Sagarejo road starts east of Lochin junction and ends east of Tokhliauri junction. The new road will completely relieve traffic in populated areas, which will ensure traffic safety and reduce travel time.
