Giorgi Tsereteli, Chairman of the Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, and his deputies, Eugene Zhukov, Director of the ADB Regional Office for Central and West Asia, Shane Rosenthal, Head of the Georgian Mission, progress of the funded projects was inspected on the spot and the progress and challenges of the projects were discussed.

The Asian Development Bank is financing the construction of the Rikoti Pass, Khevi-Ubisa and Shorapani-Argveta sections.

Funded by the Asian Development Bank, a number of major road construction and rehabilitation projects are underway, including the Rikoti Gorge-Ubisa and Shorapani-Argveta sections of the East-West Expressway, the Batumi Bypass, the Kvesheti-Kobi-I 9 Construction of Dzirula-Kharagauli-Moliti-Fona-Chumateleti road, Tsnori bypass road, Poti bridge and access road.
