"During the last 24 hours, unusually heavy rain fell throughout Georgia, which created some problems on the central roads under the management of the Roads Department. Relevant cleaning works were carried out in all directions for 24 hours, the roads were treated with technical salt. Restrictions were imposed only on trailers and semi-trailers. At this point, we can say that movement on the central highways in all directions is free for all types of vehicles. We again call on the people of Georgia and our citizens to obey the relevant restrictions and drive with the appropriate winter tires in order to move safely on the highways, "said Giorgi Tsereteli, Chairman of the Roads Department, while inspecting the ongoing cleaning works on the Gori road.

Due to the difficult meteorological conditions, in order to avoid traffic jams on the roads, the cleaning works continue continuously throughout Georgia. The works are carried out by the Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia. Snow-clearing equipment is mobilized in all directions, the roads are constantly treated with sand-salt mixture.

As a result of intensive cleaning works, at the moment, traffic is free on Tbilisi-Senaki-Leselidze, Akhaltsikhe-Ninotsminda, Akhalkalaki-Kartsakhi and Khashuri-Akhaltsikhe-Vale roads.

Also at this time, the mode of movement of anti-skid chains on the Sachkhere-Oni road and Nakerala Pass has been lifted, while restrictions on the movement of trailers and semi-trailers are still in force.

Special modes of movement are maintained on the following roads:

Due to snow and wind, the movement of trailers and semi-trailers is restricted on the Gudauri-Kobi section of the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi international road, and the movement of other types of vehicles is free. Mode, only through avalanche tunnels. The movement will be carried out under the direct supervision and coordination of the patrol police.

Due to heavy snow and low temperatures, the movement of trailers and semi-trailers is restricted on the km1-km106 section of the Gomi-Sachkhere-Chiatura-Zestaponi secondary road, while the movement of other types of vehicles is allowed. Traffic with two or more driveways is free.

Due to difficult meteorological conditions (heavy snow and blizzard), on the km1-km22 section of the Alpana-Tsageri secondary road, traffic is restricted for trailers, semi-trailers and vehicles with a capacity of more than 30 seats, and the rest of the traffic. Traffic with two or more driveways is free.

Due to the heavy snowfall, only off-road traffic is allowed on the km86-km106 section of the Batumi-Akhaltsikhe secondary road. While, the rest of the traffic is restricted.

Due to the heavy snowfall, on the of km1-km50 (Kutaisi-Sairme) section of the Kutaisi-Baghdati-Abastumani-Benara road, the movement of trailers, semi-trailers and buses with more than 30 seats is restricted, while the rest of the road Allowed using anti-slip chains. Due to heavy snowfall, on the km16-km29 section of the  Cholaburi Bridge-Terjola-Tkibuli secondary road, traffic is allowed using anti-slip chains. Traffic with two or more driveways is free.

Due to heavy snowfall, trailers and semi-trailers are restricted on the km 42 – km 125 (Tsageri-Mele) section of the Kutaisi-Tskaltubo-Tsageri-Lentekhi-Lasdili secondary road, while the rest of the traffic is free. Traffic is free on km1-km42 (Tskaltubo turn-Tsageri) section of the road.

Traffic of trailers, semi-trailers and buses with a capacity of more than 30 seats is restricted on the km30-km186 (Jvari-Ushguli) section of the Zugdidi-Jvari-Mestia-Lasdili secondary road.
