Another important project, construction of Bakurtsikhe-Tsnori bypass road will launch in Kakheti region.

Asian Development Bank will finance construction of a new road. International bidding for construction of Bakurtsikhe-Tsnori road has already been announced and interested bidders can submit bids by 16:00 of July 8, 2021

Bakurtsikhe-Tsnori bypass road project considers construction of 16.6 km long 2-lane asphalt pavement road and 6 bridges. This road is a part of one of the main roads of Kakheti - Tbilisi-Bakurtsikhe-Lagodekhi road. Mentioned section passes through densely populated area and is characterized by high intensity of transit movement, which does not meet the high standard of traffic safety. In order to address the existing problems, it is designed to build the road in Alazani lowland, which will connect Tbilisi-Bakurtsikhe-Lagodekhi-Azerbaijan Border international road with the existing local road. The road is expected to bypass the densely populated villages:  Bakurtsikhe, Kardanakhi, Anaga, Vakiri, Mashnaari, Sakobo and Tsnori.

Construction of Bakurtsikhe-Tsnori  road will be completed in 2 years after commencement of works.
