Meetings with Kharagauli and Zestaponi Public School Students Held as part of 6th UN Global Road Safety Week

A meeting was held with the students of Vertkvichala Public School of Kharagauli Municipality and Zeda Sakara Public School of Zestaponi Municipality in the vicinity of the construction project of Khevi-Ubisa and Shorapani-Argveta sections of E60 highway within the framework of the project "Streets for Life" of the 6th UN Global Road Safety Week, which highlights the benefits of low-speed urban streets as the heart of any community.

The meeting was attended by Salome Tsurtsumia, Deputy Chair of Roads Department of Georgia, Irakli Izoria, Director of NGO “The Foundation Partnership for Road Safety", regional representatives of the Patrol Police Department and representatives of Kharagauli Municipality.

Students were introduced to the topics of road safety and gender equality along with construction project of Khevi-Ubisa and Shorapani-Argveta sections of E60 highway.

At the end of the meeting, the students had possibility to ask the guests questions and received comprehensive answers to all the questions.

Roads Department will continue to hold similar meetings with public school students to raise awareness among students about road projects, traffic safety, and gender-related activities of Roads Department, and to increase their interest and involvement in these issues.
