Design works of 18km road and railways access to Anaklia Deep Sea Port are actively progressing.

By this time, a project company has submitted initial and interim reports of the project. After comparing alternate directions, the preferred direction was selected, where site-fieldwork are completed. Study of design documentation is currently underway and the draft project will be presented in October 2019.

In parallel, a term of reference has already been prepared for the procurement of construction works, according to which a contractor will be selected as per two-stage tender until the end of November.

The scoping report is completed in compliance with the plan and submitted to the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture for approval.

The approximate cost of road and railway infrastructure is GEL 330 million.
