Deputy Chairman of Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia and director of the company that won the tender, signed contract of Batumi-Akhaltsikhe 8,5 km road section rehabilitation.

Batumi-Akhaltsikhe road, through Goderdzi Pass, connects southern regions with Adjara, Batumi sea port,black sea resorts and Sarpi custom checkpoint with the shortest route.

Batumi-Akhaltsikhe rehabilitation section passes through Akhaltsikhe and Adigeni municipalities. Full operation and functioning of mentioned road has a great importance for Samtskhe-Javakheti region’s economic development and improvement of social conditions of population.

Project considers: rehabilitation of carriageway, construction of reinforced concrete bridge  and reconstruction of the bridge, arrangement of structures, entrances to private yards, public transport stops and enclosed bus stops. Road signs would be installed and marking of the carriageway would be done.
