Roads Department made presentation on road safety social campaign

Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia made presentation of “Road Safety” campaign, which will last for 6 months. Presentation was made by Vazha Panchulidze, Chairman of Roads Department and foundation “Partnership for Road Safety. The presentation was attended by representatives of local authorities, Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and Patrol Police, and directors of public schools.

Roads Department launched campaign to raise road safety public awareness and education on February 26. Campaign will last for 6 months.

The goal of the project is to make rehabilitated roads safer in Kaketi region, reduce number of road accidents and improve behavior of road users on roads. Educational project will assist drivers to follow road rules and improve road safety level.

Particular attention should be paid to youth education under the project; trainings will be held on key-factors, such as: safety of pedestrians, non-use of seat belts, high speed drive, cell phone use while driving, and insufficient education of pedestrians, driving drunk or tired and other.
