Rehabilitation of 4,7 km Kutaisi-Sapichkhia-Chognari secondary road is nearly finished in Imereti region.

Rehabilitation of the shortest road connecting with Kutaisi center started in April 2014. 40 local persons are employed by the project. At this stage, new asphalt-concrete pavement is constructed; structures, culvers, ditches, junctions, entrances to the private yards, road signs and horizontal marking are arranged.

Kutaisi-Sapichkhia-Chognari secondary road connects Kutaisi with Kutaisi bypass road and adjacent villages; also respective road is linked with Bagrati Cathedral and Gelati Monastery. As a result of road rehabilitation, traffic would become more comfortable and safe for Kutaisi residents and tourists.

Rehabilitation works under the State financing is implemented by “Sakmilsadenmsheni” Ltd.  Project cost is GEL 3 018 000. Kutaisi-Sapichkhia-Chognari road has not been rehabilitated for more than 25 years. Road will open by the end of the summer.
