Deputy Chairman of Roads Department Vazha Panchulidze along with representatives of monitoring service inspected operating condition of 139 km Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi road. Under the monitoring, principal of RD inspected reserve of sand-salt and fuel, level of mobilization of human resources, condition of snow cleansing machine and other special equipments at 6 supporting points provided by maintenance company “Georgian Military Road”.

Deputy Chairman also inspected progress of rehabilitation works of the bridge existing at neutral territory of Larsi check point. It should be noted that against the difficult meteorological conditions cleaning of respective road was progressing actively and in spite of heavy snow road was open. Although, traffic condition in terms of application of antiskid chains still was maintained at Kobi-Gudauri section.

For today, traffic at all sections of Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi road is free. Shadow areas, slopes and curved turnings are constantly treated with sand and salt mixture.

Management of Roads Department proceeds monitoring in order to ensure uninterrupted implementation of maintenance works in winter. RD will inspect road companies of 34 zones throughout the country.
