The Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia is carrying out rehabilitation works of the 21 km section of the Tbilisi (Gldani)-Tianeti highway of domestic importance. At this stage, asphalt-concrete pavement is laid on the road.

Within the framework of the project, complete rehabilitation of the road is being carried out, asphalt-concrete coating is being installed and 3 bridges are being rehabilitated. Retaining walls, water pipes, drainage channels and pavements will be arranged. It is also planned to arrange connections to local roads, entrances to residents' yards, a parking lot and a bus parking area.

The rehabilitation section starts in Tbilisi and will pass through the territories of the villages of Mamkoda and Tshvarichamia.

As a result of the rehabilitation of the Tbilisi-Tianeti road, the movement of vehicles on the road will become more comfortable and travel time will be reduced.

The project is financed by 24 948 977 GEL from the state budget. The works are scheduled to be completed by 2024.
