Works are underway to improve the connection between the 107th km of the Kutaisi (Choma)-Alpana-Mamison pass highway and the Sachkhere-Rachi connecting highway. 

On August 26 of this year, a small mass of land collapsed on the said section. After that, for the sake of safety, 24-hour monitoring was carried out, and the traffic was carried out in only one lane. 

The information about the ban on motor vehicle traffic was distributed by the Roads Department of Georgia, starting this morning, before the start of the works.

Information is spreading that the incident happened on the new road connecting Sachkhere-Rachi, which is not true. Within the framework of ongoing works, a part of the road was demolished on the 107th km of the existing highway of Kutaisi (Choma)-Alpana-Mamison pass of domestic importance.  This section was already in a bad condition and that is why rehabilitation works were planned.

During the period of works on the 107th km of the Kutaisi (Choma)-Alpana-Mamison Pass highway of domestic importance, movement is temporarily restricted for all types of motor vehicles. It is planned to restore traffic by the end of the day.
