By order of the Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, the rehabilitation works of the 11.5 km section of Tianeti-Akhmeta-Kvareli-Ninigori road are actively continuing.

The rehabilitation road is located in the municipality of Telavi, it starts from the village of Jughaani, passes through the village of Saniore, the village of Nafareul and ends at the village of near Shakriani junction. In the vicinity of the road there are residential houses, farm plots, wineries, gas stations, commercial areas and agricultural fields, therefore the proper functioning of this road is very important for the local population.

The existing road was heavily damaged and hindered movement in conditions of increased traffic intensity.

The road rehabilitation project envisages complete rehabilitation of the road infrastructure. The roadway will be rehabilitated, water pipes, culverts, bus stop pavilions, entrances to residents' yards and road signs will be arranged. Horizontal marking of the carriageway will be carried out. 9 km at this stage. The arrangement of asphalt-concrete covering on the length section is completed. Up to 70% of the works have been completed.

The project is financed from the state budget and its cost is 11,659,030 GEL. The works are planned to be completed this year.
