The Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia is rehabilitating a 2-km section of the national Telavi-Shakhriani road. The works are at the stage of completion.

The rehabilitation section starts at the 25th km of the Akhmeta-Telavi-Bakurtsikhe road and ends at In Telavi, it includes a densely populated 2 km long section of the Peace Street. The Telavi-Shakriani road connects the municipalities of Telavi and Kvareli.

In accordance with the project, the bridge on the road was rehabilitated, a new drainage system and other artificial structures were arranged. Connections to local roads and entrances to residents' yards were also organized. The arrangement of asphalt-concrete pavement on the 2 km section has been completed. At this stage, the arrangement of sidewalks and road signs is in progress, after which the marking of the carriageway will be carried out.

The project was financed from the state budget and its cost is 2,245,117 GEL.
