By order of the Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, the rehabilitation works of the 11.5 km section of the Tianeti-Akhmeta-Kvareli-Ninigori road are actively underway.

The rehabilitation road starts from Jughaani village of Telavi municipality, passes through the surrounding area of Saniore village and ends at Nafareuli village. Adjacent to the road are residential houses, homesteads, wineries, gas stations, commercial areas and agricultural fields. Therefore, the proper functioning of this road is very important for the local population. The existing road was badly damaged and, under conditions of increased traffic intensity, hindered movement.

The road rehabilitation project envisages the complete restoration of the road infrastructure: the carriageway of the road will be rehabilitated, water pipes, culverts, bus pavilions, entrances to people's yards and road signs will be arranged. Also, horizontal marking works of the roadway will be carried out.

The project is financed from the state budget and its cost is 11,659,030 GEL. The works are planned to be completed this year.
