The Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia continues the construction of the bypass road of Sagarejo.

Within the framework of the project, 7.6 km of road and 17 bridge crossings will be built. The cost of construction works is up to 150 million GEL. At this stage, the arrangement of reinforced-concrete pipes and foundation girders of the bridge, the works of changing the ground and the bed of the river are underway.

Sagarejo bypass road is a constituent part of Tbilisi-Sagarejo 35 km road. The Tbilisi-Sagarejo road is divided into 3 sections, where a 4-lane cement-concrete and partially asphalt-concrete surface, equipped with an external lighting system, will be built. The construction of the 35 km Tbilisi-Sagarejo road is financed from the state budget and its total cost is 527,169,937 GEL.

The Tbilisi-Sagarejo section is a part of the main highway connecting Tbilisi to Kakheti, as well as a transit corridor connecting it with the northwestern region of Azerbaijan. The existing road passes through densely populated villages and towns such as Vaziani, Sartichala, Ninotsminda and Sagarejo.
