The Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia is intensively carrying out rehabilitation works on a total of 7 km (km13-km17 and km24-km25) of the Khashuri-Akhaltsikhe-Vale secondary road.

The rehabilitation road is located in Borjomi municipality. The first section starts from the territory of Akhaldaba and ends near the village Kortaneti, and the second section starts in the village Rveli and continues to St. to Davit Agmashenebeli Street #40 in Borjomi.

The rehabilitation project envisages the arrangement of asphalt-concrete pavement on the roadway, the rehabilitation of 1 bridge, the rehabilitation of artificial structures and the arrangement of new ones, the arrangement of a closed drainage network, the repair of the existing concrete retaining walls and the arrangement of the lower retaining wall of the gabion. Also, connects to local roads and local entrances, entrances to residents' yards, curbs and sidewalks, bus parking areas and passenger waiting areas, road signs and marking of the roadway will be implemented.

Khashuri-Akhaltsikhe-Vale road is one of the main components of the transit corridor and connects Samtskhe-Javakheti with other administrative units of Georgia. In this way, transit cargo turnover is carried out and its proper functioning is of great importance from the socio-economic point of view.

The project is financed from the state budget and its cost is 9.7 million. It is up to GEL. The works are scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2023.
