The Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia is carrying out rehabilitation works on the 6 km section of the Shulaveri-Shaumiani-Sioni-Tserakvi secondary road.

The rehabilitation road is located in Marneuli municipality. It starts in Marneuli, from Kostava Street and runs through the territory of Shulaveri village. Most of the ethnic minorities live along the road.

The existing road was badly damaged, it became difficult for vehicles to move in rainy weather, and it urgently needed rehabilitation.

The rehabilitation project envisages improving the technical parameters of the road. In particular, rehabilitation of the road surface, repair of culverts and existing artificial structures and arrangement of new ones. Arrangement of connections to local roads, entrances to residents' yards, bus stops. Also, marking of the carriageway of the road and installation of traffic signs.

The project is financed from the state budget and its cost is 3,143,970 GEL. The works will be completed in August of this year.
