The Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia is carrying out rehabilitation works on the 28 km long Khonabudji-Samtatskaro section of the nationally important Gumbati-Khirsa-Enamta-Samtatskaro-Sabatlo road.

The rehabilitation of the section is being carried out in 2 projects and the works are financed from the state budget, in total, with 20,739,345 GEL.

Rehabilitation road section, which passes through the territory of Dedoplistskaro municipality in Kakheti, have not been carried out for 30 years. The existing road was mostly gravel and damaged, the road transport was delayed, especially in rainy weather, which created a big problem for the population using the road. It was also difficult to reach the agricultural fields adjacent to the road.

The project envisages the complete rehabilitation of the road, the laying of asphalt-concrete pavement, the arrangement of artificial structures, which will make the movement safe and comfortable, and the time of movement will be reduced. The works are planned to be completed in the summer of 2023.

In 2016-2021, the rehabilitation of the 39 km long section of Gumbati-Khornabuji and Samtatskaro-Sabatlo road has already been carried out, the total cost of which was 17,085,443 GEL.

The mentioned projects ensure the complete arrangement of the road infrastructure and the elimination of hundreds of problems on the 67 km section of the Gumbati-Khirsa-Enamta-Samtatskaro-Sabatlo road.
