According to the Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, bridges and tunnels are being actively built on the Rikoti Pass, 14 tunnels have already been cut, and works are underway on 80 bridges and 47 tunnels.

A total of 51.6 km of 4-lane main road is planned to be built on Rikoti, which will include 96 bridges and 53 tunnels.

The construction of the Rikoti Pass section is a project of the century, carried out on the most difficult geological and geographical route, with complex engineering structures.

At the moment, the speed on the ricotta is 60 km / h, and after the construction is completed, the speed will double. The Rikoti section will be a turning point in the construction of the expressway, as a result of this project, the already constructed expressway sections in eastern and western Georgia will be connected.

The modernization of the Rikoti crossing section is crucial in terms of developing the road network and bringing it in line with modern standards.

The new road meets all modern standards of road safety.

The construction of the Rikoti Pass Road is scheduled to be completed in stages by 2023.
