An international bidding has already been announced for construction of a new bridge and approach roads over the Rioni river in Poti.  

A new 8-span, 436 m. long road bridge will be built over the Rioni river. Along with a bridge, approach roads will be constructed and a total length of the bridge and approach roads will be up to 2 km in total.

For the time being, the existing road runs through a hydro plant, the technical parameters of which cannot ensure the smooth and safe movement of vehicles.  Construction of a new bridge will solve the pending issues and assist to ensure safe drive and uninterrupted transit flows towards Poti on international road of high intensity.    

Construction of a new bridge will be completed in 2 years after commencement of works.

Poti Bridge is an integral part of E60-E70 highway. Highway is the shortest road connecting the countries of Europe and Asia. Depending on the physical location of the highway, it has potential to become a major transportation hub between the Black Sea, the Caspian Sea and Central Asia.

The deadline for submission of bids for the companies interested in the construction of Poti Bridge is July 6, 2021 until 16:00.
