Roads Department conducts design-construction of a new bridge over Mtkvari River at km7 of Uplistsikhe complex access secondary road. Two superstructures have already been arranged and the works are underway for the development of the remaining piers.

The new bridge, 119m long will be located to the access road of Uplistsikhe complex, over Mtkvari River, nearby Kvakhvreli village in the Gori Municipality. 

An existed bridge was damaged and construction of a new one was necessary to ensure safe traffic.

A new concrete-cement bridge crossing will ensure safe traffic, which is also important in terms of tourism, since Uplistsikhe, literally Fortress of God, an ancient rock-hewn town in Georgia is one of the top visited places by tourists.

The project, worth around GEL 2 million is funded from the state budget. The works are planned to be completed in summer of the current year.
