Disaster clean-up operations actively progressing in Racha

Irakli Karseladze, First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Chairman of Roads Department of Georgia and Giorgi Tsereteli, Deputy Chairman of Roads Department superintend disaster clean-up operations in disaster zone.

 “For the time being, 5 villages already have supply of electricity and we hope that three more villages will have power supply by the end of the day. As for the reinstatement of road infrastructure, we are actively working in that direction, about 17 units of heavy machinery are engaged in the works and additional equipment are on the way. For now, we are waiting for the river flow attenuation to bring more equipment and conduct works more actively”, stated Irakli Karseladze.

Representatives of Roads Department: design team, road builders and bridge specialists are mobilized in disaster zone. They are working on design solution, as well as on prevention plan based on the initial information.

Specialists also coordinate infrastructure reinstatement works damaged as a result of disaster and disaster clean-up operations in order to implement necessary works and reinstate damaged infrastructure within the shortest time.
