Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, under the order of Georgian government will rehabilitate secondary roads of Zugdidi city.

The following projects will be developed in Zugdidi city: rehabilitation of 2.3km road of Tamar Mepe Street, the works will start in May and will be completed in five months, the project costs GEL 5, 373, 373; rehabilitation of 1.5km road section of Tabukashvili Street, the works, worth GEL 2, 344, 332 will commence in May and will be completed within five months; rehabilitation of 2.5km long motorway passing at Konstantine Gamsakhurdia Street. Currently, the Municipality is correcting design documentation of the project, after that the tender will be announced. Approximate cost of the projects amounts to GEL 5, 015, 400. The project will be completed for the end of the current year.

Rehabilitation of six more streets are also planned during 2019. 2km section of Janashia and Khelaia Streets, 1,48km Zviad Gamsakhurdia Street, 2.08km Lazi Street, 1.65km Chikobava Street, 1.25km Baramia Street and 0.5km Kobuleti Street will be rehabilitated. 

Winners for preparing designs of the mentioned six projects are already identified. The contracts soon-to-be awarded. Design of these projects will be completed within five months. However, design acceptance for some roads will be conducted gradually and tenders for work rehabilitation will be announced stepwise.    

Road infrastructure and drainage systems will be fully upgraded at nine streets of Zugdidi city. It will enable residents of Zugdidi city to move on renewed and comfortable roads within the city.

In Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, currently, rehabilitation works are ongoing at 15 sites with total cost of GEL 59.3 million. Tender procedures are ongoing on 10 projects with total cost of GEL 42.2 million, and during 2019, tenders will be announced on 17 project and works will be commenced.

In 2018, 27 projects were executed in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, 37 km of road, worth GEL 65.6 million was rehabilitated.
