In a weekly column of photo reportage, the Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia provides photographs reflecting rehabilitation works of Khashuri-Akhaltsikhe-Vale road.
The mentioned road connects Georgia with the Republic of Turkey. This road is used for international and transit traffic. The rehabilitation project of 2 km (km61-km62) section of Khashuri-Akhaltsikhe-Vale road envisages: arrangement of road base, two layer asphalt concrete pavement, junctions with the local roads, yard entrances for local residents, concrete parapets, bus stops and enclosed bus stops, sidewalks, gabions, artificial structures, directional posts and metal barriers. It also includes horizontal marking works of the road.
At this stage, rehabilitation works of curbs, sidewalks, yard entrances for local residents and junctions with the local roads are underway on the road section to be rehabilitated.
The project is funded by the state budget and its cost is GEL 1 376 748. Works will be completed by the end of this year.
