Mr. Irakli Litanishvili, Chairman of Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia observed works progress of 6km section of Gori-Kareli road.
Project, which is being implementing by the order of Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia includes: construction of asphalt-concrete pavement; arrangement of reinforced-concrete ditches and bottom supporting walls for gabions, junctions to local roads and entrances to private yards; installation of road signs; repairing of culverts and concrete gutters; also delineation and horizontal marking.
At this stage, works are completed on 2 km section, arrangement of gabions and ditches are underway on the remaining 4 km.
Respective section runs through densely populated villages of Kareli and Gori municipalities: Ghvlebi, Kvenaplavi and Rieti, wherein asphalt-concrete pavement had never existed.
Rehabilitation works commenced in September 2015 and completion is expected in summer of the current year. Works are financed from the state budget and its total cost is GEL 1 744 000.
