Representatives of Roads Department attended an experiment on new road maintenance technology called RejuvaSeal. Asphalt treatment by application of new technology ensures improvement of asphalt quality and expending its lifecycle.

Application of mentioned technology makes it possible to increase lifecycle of asphalt pavement by 50-60 percent. The new technology was used during construction of Tbilisi bypass road and after successful testing of this method, Roads Department will intensively start application of the new technology.

RejuvaSeal is produced on the basis of complex coal-hydrogen. When applied to asphalt, the product penetrates the pavement to rejuvenate and protect the asphalt by replacing the tars and bitumen lost due to oxidation well below the surface. It also seals and protects the pavement against water, sunlight and chemical contaminants that are main causes of damage to pavement surface.

RejuvaSeal was first produced in the United States of America and was used for maintenance of military airport runways. Since 2000, application of mentioned technology also started for civil purposes to maintain roads, parking areas and other infrastructure projects.

RejuvaSeal, the modern technology has been approved in USA and various European and Asian countries. Official distributors of the new technology in Georgian market are consulting company PMCG (Policy and Management Consulting Group) and NIDCO International (official distributor of RejuvaSeal in Europe and Asia)
