    GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE
     
    Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia intends using the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (“the Bank”) for the rehabilitation of the Mestia – Ushguli road. The proposed project, which has a total estimated cost of GEL 50 (fifty) million equivalent, will require the procurement of the following goods, works and services:
     
    • The civil works associated with the rehabilitation of a 47km road between Mestia and Ushguli in Samegrelo and Upper Svaneti region of Georgia;
    • Consultancy assistance for the supervision of civil works.
     
    Tendering for the above contracts is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2011.

    1. Georgia has received a Loan from Japan International Cooperation Agency toward the cost of the East-West Highway Improvement Project on December 16, 2009. It is intended that part of the proceeds of this Loan will be applied to eligible payments for which this Invitation for Prequalification is issued.
    2. The Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of  Georgia (hereinafter referred to as “the Employer”) intends to prequalify contractors and/or firms for the Construction of the two (2) lane highway at Kutaisi Bypass-Samtredia of approximately 26km length as part of the construction of Zastafoni – Kutaisi – Samtredia road section of the E-60 highway.
    3. It is expected that Invitation for Bids will be made in July 2011.
