Road and pavement condition data collection for local roads

1. This Invitation for Bids (IFB) follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this project that appeared in UNDB online on 27th October, 2005 and updated on 17th November 2008.
2. Georgia has received a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development toward the cost of the Secondary and Local Roads – Additional Financing Project and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the mentioned works.
3. Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia serves as the implementing agency for the project and now invites sealed bids from eligible Bidders for the establishing of a road and pavement condition database of local roads.
4. Bidding will be conducted using the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, edition of May 2004 revised October 2006 and is open to all Bidders eligible as defined in these Guidelines,
5. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below from 10:00 to 17:00 hours.
6. A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested Bidders on submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of 200 GEL. The method of payment will be direct deposit on the bank account specified below.
7. Bids must be delivered to the address below not later than 30 March, 2010, 17:00 local time. Bids need to be secured by a Bid Security. The amount of Bid Security required is 7,000 GEL. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of Bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at the address below.
