• September 26, 2009 Mr. David Tkeshelashvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure and Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Chairman of Roads Department of Georgia will conduct in Kakheti region on-site monitoring of rehabilitation works for 5 km long section of Bodbiskhevi-Gurjaani-Tibaani local road. The works are ongoing within the scope of pilot project, which is implementing in Georgia for the first time and considers utilization of modern technology - concrete paver for rural roads.

• September 22, 2009 II stage of the Meeting of Tender Commission related to the upgrading of 27 km long section of Vaziani-Gombori-Telavi secondary road was held at the conference hall of Roads Department. Bid proposals submitted by bidders were opened at the meeting. 10 companies were participated in bidding. As a result of roads reconstruction, travel time from Tbilisi to Telavi will be substantially reduced. Traffic flow driving towards Kakheti direction will be diverted to the respective road. Roads reconstruction will promote to the development of regional infrastructure. While working on the design, route, passing through densely populated areas, was selected among the alternative alignments in order to improve social condition of local communities.

• September 20, 2009 Mr. David Tkeshelashvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure and Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Chairman of Roads Department of Georgia, will open 6 km length section of Kutaisi-Khoni secondary road. Rehabilitation works of Kutaisi-Khoni road section were commenced in May of current year and completed in September. Roads rehabilitation works for mentioned section considered construction of new asphalt-concrete pavement, rehabilitation and construction of artificial structures, provision of gabions, drainage system and road signs. Also, road marking is completed.  Currently, arrangement of traffic safety elements is underway.

• September 19, 2009 Mr. David Tkeshelashvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Chairman of Roads Department of Georgia and Mr. David Kirkitadze, Governor of Kvemo Kartli will attend the construction commencement process for 8 km long section of Kveshi-Dzedzmariani-Tandzia road (near the village Tandzia) in Kvemo Kartli region. The works are ongoing within the scope of pilot project, which is implemented in Georgia for the first time and considers construction of concrete roads in villages by means of modern technologies.

• September 11, 2009 Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Chairman of Roads Department of Georgia, with a solemn ceremony will award certificates to 30 graduates of the course “Innovation in road field”. Roads Department commenced innovative training program in order to promote popularization of road sector and enhance its prestige among society; program considers additional short-term training with duration of 1 month for students of airfields, bridges and tunnel faculties. Mentioned trainings will be given in accordance with Aide-Memoire  of Cooperation, which was signed with Technical University. Training program will be provided by the company “Newcase”.
