    The department of construction of roads, airfields, bridges and tunnels of the Technical University of Georgia will have a new laboratory of international standards for determining quality of cement-concrete. Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, handed over to the Technical University 26 type of laboratory equipment, overall 51 pieces.

    The successful students of Akaki Tsereteli State University will work at Kutaisi office of Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia. Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia has met with 11 students of Kutaisi Akaki Tsereteli State University, who were interned at Kutaisi office of Roads Department.
    At this stage, after successful completion of internship, 2 course graduates were given opportunity to work at Kutaisi office of RD,   the other 9 students were employed by the contractor companies.

    Construction of a new 70 m long bridge over the river Mtkvari is in progress. The respective bridge is located near Khertvisi-Vardzia road in Aspindza district. The bridge will assist to connect local residents and tourists with Vardzia Monastery Complex.
    Currently, construction of bridge piers is completed and installation of beams is underway. Asphalt-concrete pavement will be laid on the bridge deck, which width is 13 meters; sidewalks and railings will be provided; simultaneously, construction of retaining wall is ongoing, which is located on the approach road, thus will ensure safe traffic movement.

    Bakuriani has got ready for winter. Rehabilitation of 3 km long ring road was completed by the beginning of tourist season. Rehabilitation of water system is nearing completion. Bakuriani will receive 24-hour water supplyas a result of the system rehabilitation.

    Rehabilitation of 50 m long weather-beaten section of the overpass (with total length 549 meters) at 9 km of Tbilisi Bypass road is completed.
    Traffic movement on the overpass was impossible since it was damaged. The Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia has implemented the rehabilitation works. 2 spans of the overpass were restored; one new pier was built, which is secured by 21 m long piles; asphalt pavement was constructed, road marking was provided and railings were painted in line with the design. Also, shore protection works were carried out in the river bed.
