  November 21, 2011 Today, the President of Georgia opened Rikoti tunnel together with the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili. Full rehabilitation of Rikoti tunnel was implemented by coordination of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia.   The tunnel length is 1750 meters; width is 9.15 meters and height is 5 meters. In the frames of rehabilitation works:  -   The road rehabilitation works have been implemented and asphalt pavement has been arranged; -    The hydro-isolation system by using the modern technologies have been changed;

  November 16, 2011 Today, the President of Georgia has participated in the opening ceremony of the lake "Ilias Tba" in Kvareli and made the speech to address of the gathered population. In his speech, the President focused attention on those projects that are being implemented throughout the country. He pointed out that the reconstruction process will be expanded in the region of Kakheti with unimaginable scale and lots of similar infrastructure projects and new tourist complexes will be built. The next year will be year of starting the new stage for Kakheti Region. The President noted that this innovation will be good for the locals not only for relaxation but will become a new source of income.

  November 2, 2011 The rehabilitation of 8.3 km road section on Tbilisi-Tianeti road has been completed. Today, the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Mr. Ramaz nikolaishvili has visited the mention road with the president's governor in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region Tsezar Chocheli and has met with the local population.   Nikolaishvili introduced the population the "ten-point plan" ("ten-point plan for the modernization and employment for the years 2011-2015). One of the main aims of this document is improving the social condition of the population and to create as much as possible well-paid jobs.

  October 30, 2011 Residents of 40 villages of Shida Kartli will be able to move by rehabilitated road. Today, the Minister of regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Mr. Ramz Nikolaishvili together with the President's Governor in Shida Kartli Mr. Giorgi Tatishvili has visited the rehabilitated works on 23 km road Kareli-Samtsverisi-Osiauri.   Kareli - Samtsverisi - Osiauri damaged road was creating transportation problems for the population of 40 villages placed along the road.  In this section of the road the drainage channels were arranged, artificial structures have been rehabilitated and three bridges have been reconstructed. At present the asphalt - concrete cover is being arranged on the road. The Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure implements the project, funded by the World Bank. About 50 people are employed on the rehabilitation works, the most of whom are local residents.

  October 23, 2011 The Minister of regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili has met with 50 students which have been recruited in the Ministry, congratulated them and has handed the certificates.   About 40 successful students have been employed at the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia and its subordinate offices.   The students for internship were selected according the memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, "University of Georgia", ESM (European School of Management), "Georgian Institute of Public Affairs "(GIPA) and "Caucasus University", which was signed in the May of current year.  The memorandum provided for the students of these universities to pass practical training and gives ability to the best ones of them to employ after trainings at the Ministry and its subordinate offices.
