     The European Investment Bank will allocate funding for construction of Samtredia - Grigoleti - Choloki international importance road. The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili and EU Ambassador Philip Dimitrov signed the grant agreement, and the Minister of Finance Mr. Dimitri Gvindadze and the Vice-President of European Investment Bank Mr. Wilhelm Molterer signed the loan agreement. The grant agreement includes allocate of 20 million euros, and the loan agreement includes to allocate 170 million euro of long-term and preferential terms. This section of the road is the one segment of the East - West Highway E60. The construction works of international importance road, with length about 70 km, will be implemented by the Department of Road of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia. The infrastructure will be developed along the new road. About 5,000 - people will be employed, directly and indirectly on construction works, most of whom are the local population, living in rural areas. Samtredia- Grigoleti - Choloki road will facilitate the easy movement, will contribute to the development of tourism in the resort Grigoleti, and will support economic development of the regions Guria and Imereti.

    Asian Development Bank will allocate additional funding for the construction of Kobuleti bypass road. Agreement on the financing was signed by the Vice-President of the Asian Development Bank Mr. Xiaoyu Zhao and the Minister of Finance of Georgia Mr. Dmitry Gvindadze  in Kobuleti. The signing ceremony was attended by the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili. Kobuleti bypass road is the segment of Adjara Bypass road. The Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure implements construction works.

    Today, in the city of Kutaisi, at the building of Roads Department, the session of the Parliament Committee of Regional Policy, Self Government and Mountainous Regions was held.  The Minister informed the members of   Committee about the works implemented by the Road Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure during 2011 and about the works planned in 2012.

    Motor Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia has organized the event dedicated to the day of auto road-builders, on December 10, "Courtyard Marriot". 
    The Prime - Minister Nika Gilauri has opened the event, and after it the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia has greeted auto road builders and has congratulated them the professional celebration. 
    The final report of 2011, which describes the road projects implemented in current year, was presented on the event. The aim of the presentation was to deliver detail information about road infrastructure projects realized in 2011 to public.

    Construction of the 2 tunnels with length 800 meters, road section with length 30 km and two ultra modern, multi-functional,  service centers, designed by Urgen Meier have been completed on 15km road section Sveneti - Ruisi of the high-speed highway  E-60.

     
    15-kilometer section Sveneti - Ruisi is the part of the high-speed highway E-60, on which the main transit movement of West - East direction is being implemented. Rehabilitation-construction of this section high-speed highway E-60 is one of the most large-scale projects of the Caucasus.  The project includes constructing of almost all species road-structures. Among them: construction of two tunnels with length 800-meter, and two overpasses with length 880-meter.
    Construction of two 800-meter tunnels and the road is completed currently. The cement - concrete pavement, with usage time 32 years, on the both directions (30km) of this section of the road has been finished: undergrounds have been arranged, the installation of drainage systems and water pipes is completed. The project was funded by the World Bank. In the frames of the project, on the highway, on the direction to Gori, near Igoeti the new bridge has been constructed. Also, the new bridge on the river Liakhvi and the access road to the bridge have been constructed. 1500 people have been employed on construction works of the road, tunnels and bridges and the most of them are the local citizens.
    At the multi-functional service centre, constructed by "Wissol" the petrol and gas stations of "Wissol", special trading area for realising agriculture products, "Wissol" Auto - Express, the supermarket, "Smart" and "Smart Cafй" is placed.
    At the service centre constructed by "Sokar" the petrol station, "Goodwill", fast food, small office of bank service, tourist services and children's entertainment centers are placed.
