Today, at 13:30, Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Chairman of Roads Department of Georgia and Mr. Levan Varshalomidze, Chairman of Government of Adjara will attend the opening of LHS bridge over the River Kubistskali at 100 km of the International Senaki-Poti-Sarpi road. First phase of construction works on mentioned bridge were completed in August 2009, thus enable vehicles to drive safely and comfortably in the right direction.

 


Project considered demolition of old bridge over the river Kubistskali, which has been damaged by natural calamity during the years, and construction of a new reinforced concrete LHS and RHS bridge, with one span, instead of an old one. Total length of the bridge is 27 meter, carriageway width is 7,5 meter.

 


Respective bridge has a great importance for the development of the economy and tourism potential of the region. Rehabilitation of the bridge will assist to integration of Georgian tourist routes into the international network. 

 


 

 

Construction activities on LHS Bridge started in September 2009. Works were executed by “Khidi” LTD. Value of works financed under the state budget amounts to 1 mln 254 thousand GEL.
