Mr. Mikhheil Saakashvili, President of Georgia, Mr. David Tkeshelashvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure and Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Chairman of Roads Department of Georgia, will open 14 km long section of Dusheti-Mjadijvari motor road in Dusheti region.


Construction works on mentioned section considered construction of new cement-concrete pavement with German technology, average operating period of which lasts 30-35 years. Artificial structures were provided for respective section.  Old culverts were rehabilitated.


Rehabilitation of road network will assist to creation of more comfortable traffic movement within urban areas and will improve social condition of local communities.


Construction of cement-concrete pavement was performed by “New Energy” Ltd.  Approximately hundred Georgian citizens were involved in construction works, most of them were locals.  Rehabilitation works for 14 km length section of Dusheti-Mjadijvari motor road were commenced in June 2009.


According to the Government Decree, in 2009-2010 cement-concrete pavement will be constructed on 130 km rural roads in various regions of Georgia.
