Mr. David Tkeshelashvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure and Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Chairman of Roads Department of Georgia will conduct in Kakheti region on-site monitoring of rehabilitation works for 5 km long section of Bodbiskhevi-Gurjaani-Tibaani local road. The works are ongoing within the scope of pilot project, which is implementing in Georgia for the first time and considers utilization of modern technology - concrete paver for rural roads.  


Construction works on mentioned section considers construction of new cement-concrete pavement with German technology, average operating period of which lasts 30-35 years. Rehabilitation of road network will assist to creation of more comfortable traffic movement within urban areas and will improve social condition of the population.

 


Construction of cement-concrete pavement commenced in August 2009 (financed by the state budget). Works are executed by “New Energy” Ltd.
According to the Government Decree, in 2009-2010 cement-concrete pavement will be constructed on 130 km rural roads in various regions of Georgia.
