Main construction works at the first section of Kobuleti Bypass road is completed

Main construction works of a new alignment of Kobuleti Bypass (LOT I) road is completed. Length of the section to be constructed is 12,4 km; upgrading and widening of  existing alignment of remaining 2.3 km Chakvi-Makhinjauri section into  four-lane road is in progress.

Asphalt-concrete pavement was constructed at respective section. Culverts, drainage systems (ditches), underpasses were arranged. Construction of pre-stressed beams, sidewalks, railings and New Jersey barriers at bridges is completed. 

14 bridges were constructed within the scope of the project:

1.      Bridge at drainage channel – length 27m, width of bridge deck - 10m

2.      Bridge over the river Natanebi - length 162m, width of bridge deck - 10m

3.      Bridge over the river Choloki - length 81m, width of bridge deck - 10m

4.      Bridge over the river Shavghele - length 81m, width of bridge deck - 10m

5.      Bridge over the river Ochkhamuri - length 81m, width of bridge deck - 10m

6.      Flyover - length 486m, width of the carriageway - 10m

7.      No1 Viaduct - length 89m, width of the carriageway - 10m

8.      No2 Viaduct - length 432m, width of the carriageway - 10m

9.      No3 Viaduct - length 135m, width of the carriageway - 10m

10.  No4 Viaduct - length 270m, width of the carriageway - 10m

11.  No5 Viaduct - length 108m, width of the carriageway - 10m

12.  No 1. Overpass – length 86m, width of the carriageway - 9m

13.  No 2. Overpass – length 86m, width of the carriageway - 9m

14.  No 3. Overpass – length 86m, width of the carriageway - 9m

13 culverts and 3 underpasses were constructed at the main road. Culverts, channels and various types of drainage systems were arranged at junctions and entrances to private land plots.

About 1000 people are employed directly or indirectly under the project.  Concrete and asphalt plants, beam producing plant, also stone crusher plant is operating at construction site.

Construction works on 18,9 km section of Kobuleti Bypass Road (LOT II) have already commenced and are actively progressing. Construction works at mentioned section will continue till 2016. First phase of construction works of Adjara bypass road would be completed as a result of commencement of civil works at respective section.
