The residents of Sachkhere and Chiatura will be able to get to the capital through rehabilitated road. Today, the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Ramaz Nikolaishvili inspected rehabilitation works of 10 km - long section of Gomi - Sachkhere - Chiatura road.  Through the Gomi - Sachkhere - Chiatura highway the residents of Sachkhere and Chiatura can get to the capital and to the east Georgia.  In the case of blocking Rikoti-pass road, the highway fulfills the function of the alternative road for connecting of the east and the west Georgia. The  road was disordered for years and has been creating movement problems, as for the residents of the surrounding villages, as well as for transit cargo. In addition, the rehabilitated road will serve more than 15 000 residents of 10 villages. 100 people are employed directly and indirectly on rehabilitation works, a large part of them are locals.

In the frameworks of the rehabilitation of Gomi - Sachkheret - Chiatura road, drainage channels were arranged, artificial structures were built and the arranging of the road with asphalt - concrete  cover is underway. The Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure implements the project.
