Rehabilitation works are underway on a 12-kilometer section (km 9 – km 20) of the Igoeti–Kaspi–Mepistskali road of domestic significance. The rehabilitation section is located in Kaspi Municipality, beginning at the central square in the town of Kaspi and mostly passing through undeveloped areas, with densely populated sections only at the beginning and end of the route.

The asphalt-concrete pavement on the rehabilitation section was damaged and required rehabilitation. To address the existing issues, the project includes full rehabilitation of the roadway and installation of a new asphalt-concrete pavement; construction of sidewalks; repair of existing and installation of new culverts; rehabilitation of the bridge over the Mtkvari River; as well as construction of retaining walls, road connections, access roads to residential yards, drainage wells, and road signs. Horizontal road markings will also be applied.

The project is financed from the state budget with a total cost of GEL 14,889,937. Completion of the works is planned for the summer of this year.
