The Roads Department has completed periodic maintenance works on a 5-kilometer section (km 1–km 5) of the road of domestic significance leading to the Nekresi Monastery Complex in Kvareli Municipality, Kakheti region.

Within the project, the road infrastructure was fully rehabilitated, including the installation of asphalt-concrete pavement, sidewalks, green areas, drainage channels, access points to residential yards, and connections to adjacent roads. Road signs were also installed, and horizontal road markings were applied.

The upgraded road will significantly improve the safety and comfort of travel for both local residents and pilgrims and tourists visiting the Nekresi historical and cultural complex.

The project was financed from the state budget with a total cost of GEL 604,100.
