An international tender has been announced for the construction works of the third lot (Avchala–Airport), a 22.5-kilometer section of the Tbilisi Bypass Highway.

The tender covers the construction of two sections: the 5.8-kilometer Avchala–Gldani section and the 16.7-kilometer Gldani–Airport section.

According to the project, the road will be a four-lane highway featuring four transport interchanges, 16 bridges, and four parallel tunnels. The section begins before the Avchala railway bridge, extends in a south-eastern direction, and ends at the entrance to Didi Lilo, before the Lilo market area.

The Tbilisi Bypass Highway constitutes a key component of the East–West international corridor (E60). Its construction represents one of the most significant road infrastructure initiatives for the development of the country’s transport system. The project aims to strengthen Georgia’s international transit function while also providing a long-term solution to traffic congestion in the capital.

The Tbilisi Bypass Road (Natakhtari/Tsitsamuri–Rustavi) is approximately 49 kilometers in total length and is divided into four lots. An international tender for the construction works of the second lot (Tsitsamuri–Avchala section) was announced at the end of December 2025.

The submission of proposals for the third lot (Avchala–Airport) will begin on April 11, 2026, and end on April 15, 2026. The estimated total procurement value amounts to GEL 932,023,564.
