• October 18, 2013 Hi-tech communication control point started operation in Gori tunnel  Roads Department purchased hi-tech communication control systems for tunnels under the World Bank financing. Control points were arranged at Gori and Rikoti Tunnels and all electro-mechanical systems existing in tunnels are operated through computer programs from control points.   Today, Deputy Chairman George Amashukeli inspected operation process of new control points and wished success to the personnel.

• October 17, 2013 Placing of concrete pavement will start at Ruisi-Agara section from October 23 Construction of Ruisi-Agara section is being implementing by “China Nuclear Industry” under the World Bank financing.  “China Nuclear Industry” brought high technological concrete paving equipment and started testing of the machine at Ruisi road. Deputy Chairman George Amashukeli inspected new machinery on site and attended the testing process.

• October 16, 2013 George Amashukeli participated in two international meetings organized by United Nations in Bangkok Deputy Chairman of Roads Department George Amashukeli attended fifth meeting of the Working Group on the Asian Highway and Asian Highway Investment Forum organized by   UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and The Pacific (ESCAP) in Bangkok.

• October 3, 2013 Picture story of Ruisi-Agara section under construction Roads Department periodically provides updated photo material from construction sites. Currently, photo material and relevant information reflecting construction of Ruisi-Agara section is accessible to public at the web page of Roads Department under “Gallery”.

• September 23, 2013 Davit Shavliashvili had a meeting with representatives of the World Bank Chairman of Roads Department Davit Shavliashvili met with representatives of the World Bank mission. Members of the mission were Jean-Francois Marteau, WB project Task Team Leader and Mustapha Benmaamar, TTL;  Marinos Skempas, Senior Highway Engineer and Joseph Melitauri, TTL of SLRP II.  Parties discussed the progress of projects financed by the World Bank and details of the projects to be implemented under the Fourth East West Highway Improvement Project.
