• June 5, 2010 June 5 is the World Environment Day stimulating awareness of the environment and enhancing political attention and public action. Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Chairman of Roads Department of Georgia, conducted environmental monitoring of borrows pits along Tbilisi-Senaki-Leselidze highway.  After utilization, borrow areas should be reinstated and they should be environmentally friendly.

• June 4, 2010 Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Chairman of Roads Department of Georgia attended rehabilitation works carried out on 2 km long road section in Kakheti region. Respective road section is an access road to the Monastery of the Assumption of Virgin Mary, Mother of God Cathedral of Gurjaani (Kvelatsminda). Rehabilitation works are at completion stage.

• June 2, 2010 Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Chairman of Roads Department of Georgia inspected rehabilitation works carried out on 25km long section of Ozurgeti-Ninoshvili-Lesa road (local) in Guria region.

• May 27, 2010 Today, President of Georgia Mr. Mikheil Saakashvili visited Ganmukhuri and Anaklia. President opened newly constructed bridge over the river Enguri. Respective bridge connects Anaklia with Ganmukhuri. The bridge is 360 meters long. It has been constructed within four months. As President noted, it will facilitate to develop tourism infrastructure. President of Georgia was the first who crossed the respective bridge.

• May 24, 2010 President of Georgia - Mikheil Saakashvili opened Roads Department’s regional office of the West Georgia in Kutaisi.
