    Construction of 60 m long bridge over the river Gldanula is completed. The respective bridge is located at 1 km of Tbilisi-Taineti road. Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia has opened a new bridge today.
    Bridge, which was connecting village Gldanula with Tbilisi, has been weather-beaten within the current year. Construction of a new bridge was commenced in July. Before completion of a new bridge, population of the village Gldanula and Tianeti has been used bypass road in order to reach the capital city.
    Value of the project financed under the Georgian Government amounted to 1 mln 852 thousand GEL. About 80 persons were engaged in civil works.

    High-speed highway from Tbilisi to Gori has been illuminated; installation of light reflection road signs is nearing completion. Ultramodern Belgian lighting system "Furio 3" was installed on the highway.  The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili personally visited the illuminated highway early in the morning. Respective lighting system is distinguished with energy efficiency and illumination power. As a result of its utilization, energy consumption is being reduced by half. Arrangement of outdoor illumination system and high quality light reflection road signs along the highway will promote to safe and comfortable traffic movement. Each next opened section of Tbilisi-Senaki-Leselidze highway will be illuminated in a parallel way.

    Rehabilitation works are coming to the end on 12 km section of 23 km long Shulaveri-Red Bridge road in Marneuli Municipality. The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili and Mr. David Kirkitadze, Governor of Kvemo Kartli have attended the last stage of civil works.

    Before rehabilitation of the road, movement on respective section was actually impossible. Drainage channels and reinforced concrete pipes were provided in line with the project. Works related to roadbed ware performed. Currently, construction of 2 layer asphalt-concrete pavement on the carriageway is nearing completion.

    Rehabilitation of 5 km long Khulo-Kedlebi road section is completed. The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili and the Chairman of the Government of Adjara Mr. Levan Varshalomidze have visited rehabilitated road.
     
    Cement-concrete pavement was laid on the respective road section. Artificial structures and retaining walls were provided. Drainage system was rehabilitated. Civil works were implemented by Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia.

    Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia has organized a solemn ceremony dedicated to “Road Builder’s Day”, which was held at Sheraton Metechi Palace on 10 December. Mr. Nika Gilauri, Prime Minister of Georgia, Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, representatives of Georgian road construction companies and diplomatic corps accredited in Georgia were invited to the ceremony.

    Presentation of annual report related to the road construction and rehabilitation works carried out by the Department within 2010 was made at the ceremony. The goal of the respective presentation was to provide detailed information to the society about the works implemented in road infrastructure and the goals achieved within the current year.
