    Today, construction of Tbilisi bypass road has been commenced by the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia. Currently, construction of a new, 7 km road and works related to arrangement of roadbed are underway. Tbilisi bypass road will unload the capital city from transit flows, thus will be a guarantee of improved ecological conditions and safety of  local population. Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia has inspected ongoing works. Construction of a new 7 km long road will be finalized by the end of the year.

    Statement of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure
    on the Vaziani-Gombori-Telavi Road Section
     
    Four land slips have occurred on the Vaziani-Gombori-Telavi (VGT) road along the section between kilometer marks 40+200 – 41+800.The road has been partly damaged due to these land slips. Extra signs and protective barriers have been installed on each section to provide safety for the road users. The VGT road remains open for traffic and passable

    The second phase of rehabilitation works of Rikoti Tunnel, located at 143 km of Tbilisi-Senaki-Leselidze road has been resumed today; Rikoti Tunnel will come into operation by the end of the current year. 
    First phase of rehabilitation works in Rikoti Tunnel was completed in November of the last year.  At this stage, worn out utilities are dismantled and removed; first phase of tunnel reinforcement works are completed.

    The movement on Kobi -Gudauri road section is free. Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure personally participated in snow cleaning works.  He drove the snow cleaning equipment and helped the staff of Roads Department to clean up the section from snow.
